No7 Match Made Concealer Review

Hello!
While scraping at the sides of my Revlon Colourstay concealer I realised I need a new concealer. However it is difficult in the UK highstreet to find a concealer for darker skinned people; so imagine my surprise when I found out No7 made a concealer in SEVENTEEN different shades!
I was on it like a car bonnet, and too add to my excitement Boots was giving out £3 off No7 makeup range vouchers as well. Originally it would retail for £7.50, but with my voucher I only had to pay £4.50. Bargain!

It is a twist up concealer, like a lipstick. The white plastic packaging is very sturdy, and in my opinion very sleek.

The colour match was okay, in the tube it looks like a really good colour; however when applied it does have a slight white-ish undertone. For this reason I only use it under my eyes and it gives a brightening affect.

When applied straight from tube it has a powder like texture, and instead of blending it in, you just have to smooth over the concealer, but if you want a more creamier texture to work with just use your to apply from the product to the area you want to conceal because the warmth of your finger will turn it to a more creamer texture. It has a natural finish, not completely matte but more satin like; this product will crease a little if not set with powder.
This has medium to full coverage, it covered very well and lasts about 3hours, retouching up is easy as the product layers beautifully.

I did find the service slightly frustrating though; I was in rush on that particular morning and had to leave the house with no makeup, a very rare occurrence. The sales assistant at the counter was very patronising to me as was her co-worker, and I assume this was because I had no makeup on. Furthermore to find my shade of concealer they used their match made service, which is a small device that takes loads of pictures of your skin then decides which foundation/concealer shade is the right one for you. The Sales Assistant placed the device on my jaw, which is the darkest part of my face, even though I told her it was to hide my under eye circles. The machine said 'mocha' was my shade and when she applied it under my eyes it was too dark, it was the exact same shade as my under eye circles. I am pretty sure she would have sold it to me aswell if I hadn't objected and said I wanted to try a different shade. Overall I was not too happy with the service.

All in all it is a very nice concealer for everyday, if you have dry skin beware it may cling to dry spots. If its ever on sale and you are able to pick one up for £4.50, you should try it out. Personally, I wouldn't repurchase this, just for the reason that it only last 3 hours and I am so busy I do not have time to do any touch ups.
If you have tried out this concealer before, please let me know what you thought about it.

  1. I bought this concealer amongst the great online reviews the bloggers were giving it non stop. I thought it may be the answer to my awful dark circles. However I was greatly disappointed. It made the applied area very dry and grey. I won't be purchasing this again. I wrote a full detailed review on this particular concealer on my own blog. I'd appreciate it if you could have a look. Thanks for the honest review. xxx
